In october,2015, the 46º Congreso Español de Acústica -TECNIACÚSTICA 2015, the Encuentro Ibérico de Acústica and the EAA European Symposium on Virtual Acoustics and Ambisonics, organised by the Spanish Society of Acoustics (SEA), the Universitat Politècnica de València -UPV- and the Portuguese Acoustical Society -SPA-. Both events event has the support of the European Acoustics Association (EAA) and the International Commission on Acoustics (ICA). During the congress, EXPOACUSTICA 2015, a Technical Exhibition on new products and services of the sector companies will take place.

Acoustic absorption coefficients of materials: Measurement session at the Cathedral of Malaga On September 8th, in-situ measurements of the acoustic absorption coefficients of the ornamentation used on the temple. Specifically, measurements were taken at the altar of the Virgin, placed in the presbytery, which consisted of a red canopied and a baroque gilded shrine, decorated with wax and flowers.

On 3rd September 2015, Lidia Alvarez participates in the Audio Engineering Society (AES) Cambridge Section session on Acoustic modelling which will hold at Anglia Ruskin University's Cambridge campus. This session will include 3 short papers on the topics of acoustic absorber design, the use of virtual acoustics for the study of medieval drama and the application of computer models to the study of cathedrals. An overview of the research on Andalusian cathedrals carried out as part of our two projects will be presented.

On-site Measurements of the absorption coefficients of materials: Church of the Annunciation Past 13th May 2015 the first session of measures of absorption coefficients in the Church of the Annunciation in Sevilla was performed. Altarpieces, paintings and textiles were measured using the P-U probe. A second visit is scheduled in the coming days to complete the measures.

Zircon calibration session and meeting at the Cathedral of Malaga On 20th February 2015, several researchers of the project team, Miguel Galindo, Alicia Alonso and Lidia Alvarez from the University of Seville and Salvador Luna from the University of Malaga, held a meeting with the Dean and the Archive staff of the Malaga Cathedral, with the aim of gather information about the decoration elements and ephemeral assemblies used due to religious or cultural celebrations in the cathedral. A special permission in order to measure in-situ absorption coefficients during the first week of September 2015, when the Cathedral is decorated in honor of the patron of the city, Santa Maria de la Victoria (8th September), was granted.
